Early Childhood School Readiness Programs have been serving children for over 30 years in private child care centers, family child care homes and public school sites. The department of Early Childhood School Readiness Programs is comprised of the following individual Early Childhood Programs:
- School Readiness
- Voluntary Prekindergarten
- Head Start
- Prekindergarten Exceptional Education
School Readiness currently serves over 12,000 children at 461 family child care homes, 328 private child care centers, and 247 school age programs.
Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) serves more than 10,000 children in the School Year and summer programs at over 1,100 VPK provider sites.
Head Start is operated in 50 elementary schools (91 classrooms), serving 1,812 children.
Prekindergarten Exceptional Education has 177 classrooms serving over 3,000 children. |
