                                   School Readiness (Birth to 10)

The Hillsborough County Public Schools School Readiness Program provides education and care services for over 12,000 children, birth to age 10 and special needs teens, through a contract with the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County

Our Goal

The goal of School Readiness is to provide safe, healthy, and readiness enriched environments that support children and their families so they will enter kindergarten ready to learn.

Our Mission

  • Children will be safe and well cared for in a clean, healthy environment.
  • Children will receive nurturing guidance from qualified caregivers based on a school readiness foundation.
  • Children will be provided with an age-appropriate program which will meet his/her physical, mental, emotional, social and intellectual needs.
  • Children will be ready to learn when entering kindergarten.
  • Families will be provided resources and opportunities that support the needs of the child.
  • Children and their families will be recognized and promoted as the community's greatest asset.

School Readiness Programs are located throughout Hillsborough County in private child care centers, family child care homes and after school programs.
